Have you ever felt like something is watching you, but nothing is there? Or perhaps, the energy of a room suddenly changes, and you feel chills or something unexplainable?
I would have these experiences a lot as a kid. Waking up in the middle of the night and seeing something there…watching me.
But not all paranormal or ghosts are created equal. Here’s my story of seeing and experiencing ghosts in my childhood. Below are reflections that expand from the video above.
Children: Sensitive?
There is a common experience where people often feel like their children are connected to something that isn’t there.
We try to write these experiences off as an “imaginary friend,” but many children say things that feel inexplicable.
“I remember: you used to be my daughter!”
“Mommy, I see a man there”
“There’s something under my bed…”
More often than not, it is a child’s imagination. There is nothing richer than the inner world of a child.
But as they are still learning, they are also extremely sensitive to the world around them (to develop pathways).
I believe I experienced a level of sensitivity beyond a reasonable doubt.
Is the Paranormal Real?
This is a loaded question. The term “paranormal” often refers to unexplainable phenomena in our natural world. A lot of time people lump together topics of all kinds that I think make the word paranormal complicated, such as: aliens, UFOs, monsters, spirits, and demons.
My understanding of the paranormal through my experiences is that ghosts and spirits are there. As to why a ghost or spirit would be somewhere? That is specific to each case: a traumatic death, visiting loved ones, or simply the remnants of their energy (instead of their actual spirits).
The spirit world and the paranormal is abstract by nature. They live outside of most of our senses, but they interact with us.
To believe is to see usually, right? But humans are notorious for missing objective reality because we can only rely on our senses to enjoy the world. And people who are naturalists and scientists often have trouble accepting that idea. Their whole world is about observation and verification. That only applies to our natural world and the realm we exist in.
That detail is why people are often embarassed or hesistant to admit their experiences of the paranormal. They do not want to be seen as not credible or crazy.
This struggle is something I have often faced as an intuitive. But I have gone through these experiences to be a guide and resource to people who may need assistance in this area.
